Performing an Administrative Installation of Instant Interest

Performing an Administrative Installation of Instant Interest is a two step process:

Step 1 is performed once. It creates a copy of the installation package on the server from which multiple individual standalone workstation installs can be performed.

Step 2 is performed for each workstation on which the application will be installed to be run in standalone mode.

Step 1: Perform an Administrative Installation on Network

Prerequisites

The person performing the installation must have the ability to create, modify and update files in the folder on the server to which the Instant Interest setup is being installed.

Step-by-step instructions:

To perform an administrative installation of Instant Interest to a network file server, use the following steps:

1. Run setup.exe from the installation package (either from the CD or from a copy loaded to a directory on your computer systems). This displays the following Welcome screen:

2. Clicking "Next" displays the "License Agreement."

To accept the License Agreement and proceed with the installation, click the "I agree" radio button and the "Next" button.

3. The setup program will then display the following screen:

Select "Set Up Application to Launch from Network" as the installation type.

4. The setup program will then display the following screen as a reminder that setting up workstations to run Instant Interest from a network server is a two step process:

Click on "Next" to proceed.

Destination

5. The next step is to tell the setup program where you want it to put the installation package files.

After you have entered a valid path for the Program File directory, click on the "Next" button to proceed with the install.

Program Group

6. The next step is to tell the setup program where to put the shortcuts it will create.

After you have specified the Program Group to which the shortcuts will be added, click on the "Next" button.

Start Installation

7. The setup program then displays the following panel:

Please make a note of the location of the installation log (C:\Program Files\ii32\ii32inst.log in the example above). If any problems occur, you should send this file to C&C Software at the address given.

Result

8. After you have completed telling the setup program how to set up Instant Interest, the following status screen will display:

The setup file is large and may take considerable time to install, so please be patient.

9. After all files are installed the setup program displays the following message:

Step 2: Perform Standalone Workstation Installations

Run setup.exe from the location on the network to which the installation package was installed in Step 1 and use the instructions for a standalone workstation installation.
