Applying Quarterly Updates

Instant Interest quarterly updates are applied from within the program using the "Apply Update" option under the Tools submenu or by clicking on the Update button.  The program gives you the option of installing from:

• the files on an update CD;
• files on a network location; or
• files downloaded from the C&C Software site.

Update CDs do not contain a setup program. 

Instant Interest allows users to set up their own tax jurisdictions in its rate table. The version update program overlays the rate information for all jurisdictions for which C&C Software provides maintenance in its subscription program and leaves intact the rate information for any jurisdictions you may have added.

Prerequisites

In order to apply an update the following prerequisites must be in place:

1. The application must be installed on the workstation applying the update. If this workstation is only used to apply updates (e.g., by a network manager) and not for performing interest calculations, that does not count as a license.
2. The workstation performing the update must have adequate security authorizations to add, delete, modify, and update files in the program and rate file directories.
