Filing Extensions

Sometimes jurisdictions grant extensions for paying taxes to all filers or to filers from particular home states. For example, in 2020 many jurisdictions extended the deadline for paying taxes for all taxpayers. In 2021, the federal government granted tax relief for taxpayers with home offices in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas, states that were afflicted with severe winter storms. In the former case, Instant Interest implemented across the board deadline extensions based on the Tax Jurisdiction. In the latter case, the due date extensions are determined based on both the Tax Jurisdiction and the Taxpayer State.
